Fortnite is a shareware action game with survival elements set in a colorful post-apocalyptic world. Most of the planet was destroyed by a cataclysm, due to which strange creatures similar to zombies began to appear.

Fortnite is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Mac and is expected to be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X.

Genre and Gameplay: 4/5

The online shooter Fortnite was originally released as a cooperative game where four players must destroy waves of enemies and complete tasks on the map. Later, a shareware mode, "Battle Royale" appeared, designed for 100 players, where the last survivor wins. Both game modes are popular due to dynamic gameplay, long storyline campaigns, or intense battles with other players, extensive pumping opportunities that make you come back to the game again and again. The last seasons of Battle Royale have bored Fortnite with constant innovations that either littered the map or added a bunch of poorly functioning mechanics.

New world: 5/5

As Epic Games calls it all, the launch of the second chapter of Fortnite went off in a big way. At first, you do not understand why you are forced to watch the introductory video and are not allowed to miss it, and then Jonesy jumping out of the bus turns out to be a playable character flying towards the new map. True, it cannot be called completely new since some of the old locations are immediately recognizable: here is the Pleasant Park, and the long-disappeared Nightmare Cinema, and the beloved Trade Point. But the overwhelming majority of "points of interest" are previously unseen zones, thanks to which the game feels much fresher.

A Hint of Mystery: 4/5

The entire map in the menu cannot be perceived at once. It is covered with the "fog of war" and gradually opens when visiting each location. The search for new emotions and impressions makes people choose different landing spots, which makes the game last longer. There is now a little chance that you will have more time to find something useful before you start fighting for survival, as not so many people get stuck in popular areas. Unfortunately, the map is still limited, soon players will choose their favorite places, and things will get worse.

Now, for the first time in a long time, Fortnite can be called balanced, convenient, and affordable - this is an opportunity to return to the days when the game was just beginning and was an ordinary battle royale without crazy vehicles flying all over the map of opponents and stupid items like storm transformers. So this season is the perfect time to get to know Fortnite or launch it after a long hiatus.
